Repentance is the beginning, middle, and end of the Christian life. St John Chrysistom
"This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and his word is not in us." 1 John 1.
What is the solution? Get up every time we fall, confess our sin to God, and make a serious effort to change. Because it is not complete repentance until sinful behavior permanently changes. It is possible to change.
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor robbers, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God." 1 Corinthians 6:9
The Lord requires that change. "Whoever has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me. And whoever loves Me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and manifest Myself to them." John 14:21
Our effort in our sanctification is absolutely necessary. The decision is ours: to continue practicing sin or to truly repent and change our way of living.
"Let the unjust be unjust still; and the filthy be filthy still; and the righteous be righteous still; and the holy be holy still." Revelation 22:11
"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.
Remind me, let us argue our case together; you speak, that I may justify yourself." Isaiah 43:25-26
"You speak, that I may justify yourself" ?
